HOT CLUB INTERNATIONAL
HOT CLUB INTERNATIONAL is the most unique Gyspy Jazz band in the world. The Quintet plays the Swing Era repertoire as well as traditional and popular songs from their own countries – Portugal, Brazil, Spain, Ukraine, and the Netherlands – in the style of Django Reinhardt.
Born in 2016 in Portugal, 5 friends from 5 different nationalities, recreate the original formation of the Quintette de L’Hot Club de France founded in 1934 by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappeli.
Nuno Marinho (guitar and vocals), Frank Meester (double bass and vocals), José Fernando Seifarth (guitar and vocals), Marian Yanchyk (violin and vocals), and Mario Pousada (guitar and vocals) play and sing in their mother tongue.
Hot Club International celebrates Music as the universal language, a vehicle for bonding and sharing timeless cultures from all around the world. Each live performance of the HCI is a journey through the Portuguese language (from Portugal and Brazil), Spanish, Dutch, Ukrainian, Russian, English, French and Tzigane culture.
THE BAND
Nuno Marinho (PT)

Nuno Marinho (Portugal) is an award-winning guitarist and composer of original jazz fusion albums. After leading the tribute band to “Pat Metheny”, he dedicated himself to his passion for Gypsy Jazz and music by Django Reinhardt.
Since 2015, Nuno has been the promoter of Django Reinhardt’s music in Portugal, forming bands, publishing articles in jazz magazines, interviews, and album reviews, as well as writing instructional books and teaching students from all over the world.
He is the director and founding member of the Jazz Manouche Association – Django Portugal, which organizes the biggest annual event in the country, Festival Django Portugal.
Frank Meester (NL)

Frank Meester (Netherlands) is a vocalist, guitarist and bassist. Under his name and as a sideman he has recorded several albums and worked with the biggest international stars of Gypsy Jazz, such as Stochelo Rosenberg, Paulus Schäfer, and Robin Nolan.
With his Hot Club de Frank, he has performed in large jazz festivals like The North Sea Jazz Festival and Montreux
Jazz Festival, and has toured extensively throughout Europe.
Dividing his personal and professional life between Portugal and The Netherlands since 2018, the prestigious Dutch philosopher and published author sings in English, French, Dutch, and Portuguese.
José Fernando Seifarth (BR)

José Fernando Seifarth (Brazil) is the grandson of Portuguese parents, and the most prominent musician and promotor of Jazz Manouche in Brazil.
The singer, guitarist, and composer is also a professional judge, specializing in
Family Law at the University of Coimbra. José is the co-founder of the group Hot Club de Piracicaba (2008) and creator of the Jazz Festival Manouche de Piracicaba (2013).
One of the most cherished artists of our generation, José has performed in international festivals in Amsterdam (Netherlands), Medellin (Colombia),
Santiago (Chile), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Langley and Mill Valley
(United States).
Marian Yanchyk (UA)

Marian Yanchyk (Ukraine) was born into a family of artists in Lviv. From the age of 6, he began to learn violin and piano, revealing his natural talent for music.
He has lived in Portugal since he was 13 years old as a Portuguese citizen. A virtuoso who is regularly featured in recordings and shows by diverse and eclectic musicians, such as Rock, Jazz, Blues, Fado, Tango, Funk, Balkan, Eastern, and Latin America.
Guest of honor at the Manouche de Jazz Festival Piracicaba (Brazil), In the Palace (Bulgaria), March Manouche (Wales), Avante (Portugal), Marian Yanchyk is one of the main representatives of Gypsy Jazz in our country.
Mario Pousada (ES)

Mario Pousada (Spain) has been a guitarist since 11 years old and a post-graduate in Jazz and Modern Music, from the Lusíada University of Lisbon in 2018.
His passion for jazz and the influence of Arabic and Balkan music made him develop several stringed instruments. In addition to the guitar, electric bass, and double bass, specialized in traditional instruments such as the banjo, the Turkish saz, the Arabic oud, the Portuguese mandola, guembri, and wash.
Its versatility takes the listener beyond Gypsy Jazz and the music of Django Reinhardt with a mix of Balkan-Arabic fusion Jazz.

2025 TOUR
The first official appearance of the Hot Club International happened in 2022 at Festival Django Portugal. The band invited Gypsy Jazz legend Wawau Adler on stage to perform one of the most expected concerts ever.
In 2023 the Hot Club International Tour in Portugal led the quintet to perform in Lisbon, Alenquer, Cascais, Coimbra, Évora, and Alverca.
And in 2024 the band performed at Jazz Olontia, one of the most prestigious Music Festivals in Andalucia, Spain
For 2025, with the support from the Cultural Department of the República Portuguesa / DG Artes, the Hot Club International’s first ever Worldwide Tour will feature concerts in some of the most respected Jazz Festivals and Venues. Here is the 2025 calendar:
