Imaginary Day is one of my favourite albums from The Pat Metheny Group. His soloing is so fluid and melodic, and complex and intriguing at the same time. I feel that this particular improvisation reflects the whole mood of the album. It took me around 4 months to transcribe, memorize, write the score and play it in tempo. It’s a big challenge but your chops will improve dramatically.
